I Pledge Allegiance

I don’t want to get into politics, especially with all the discussion in the news. I was born in New Jersey and my parents are from Puerto Rico. Everyone knows that Puerto Rico is a commonwealth and as a result, everyone is born an American. I like to clarify this little detail, since some people think I need a visa to live here in the US.

I love my country; I respect the flag, and everyone’s rights and freedom.

I want to thank each and every one who has fought for this country, especially my husband who serve this country for 20 years and fought in two wars. I would also want to recognize those who fought and died to keep our freedom.

Thank you to all the men and women who are serving this country. I do love my country.

I pledge allegiance to the flag

Of the United States of America

And to the Republic for which it stands,

One nation under God, indivisible,

With Liberty and Justice for all.

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “I pledge Allegiance“.
