#SoCS & #JusJoJan 2019 Daily Prompt~ Television

Your prompt for #JusJoJan and Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “television.” Talk about your favorite show, past, present, or future, or about the apparatus itself. Enjoy!

I love to watch television. It’s entertaining and it comforts my day. Yes, I’m a television junkie. When I was younger, we would watch television all together, it was family time. We would sit together to watch cartoons, tv series, and “Spanish Novellas (soaps)”. Spending that time together was priceless. We didn’t have a big tv and our first one was a black and white. The television wasn’t on all day. My parents didn’t want us to be hypnotized by the television. They want us to have the time to read and to play outside.

I raised my children the same way and now as adults, they watch the television when they have the time. However, as I grow older, I’m watching more television because it’s the only time I can relax. Just last night I watched Frozen and Monster University with my granddaughter and we have fun. And tonight, I will be watching classic Western movies with my husband.

My favorite channels would be Hallmark Mystery, SyFy, and lately I’m binging on Netflix and Hulu. I love those classic tv shows.

  1. Hi there, I grew up in a similar way. We had a black and white tv set until I was 11 or so and my tv time was restricted. But there were only 4 tv channels and the program stopped at midnight so there was no chance of watching 24/7. And we had the Saturday Evening family show we watched or played board games instead. Happy days 🙋🐝

  3. Classic TV shows are about all we watch on TV anymore.

I’ve alwys wondered what happens in those telenovelas. They look interesting, even if you don’t understand what’s going on.
