About me

WELCOME to my blog. I want to thank you for visiting and taking the time to read, like, and comment. I appreciate you, very much. I create this blog as a class project in 2013. I took a few free online writing classes hosted by our Public Library and I found this class “Introduction of WordPress”. I never heard of the blogging world before and I decided to give it a try and I loved it. This was an opportunity to write about anything and to meet new people like me and have some fun.

A little about me: I’m from Puerto Rico. My husband was in the US Army we moved several times in Texas (2 years), Germany (4 years), and retiring in North Dakota in June 1996. I speak Spanish and English.  I’m 61, married for 38 years to a wonderful and loving husband. I’m a mother of 3 adult children (two boys, one girl), a grandmother of 5 beautiful angels (three girls, two boys).

In March 2008, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and the perspective of my life changed forever. I was scared and angry. I went into a process I would never forget. The chemo and the radiation make my body weak, but not my spirit. After many treatments, the nightmare came to an end. I’m being cancer-free for the past 10 years.

My life changed after cancer and my family became my priority. In 2012, I brought my father from Puerto Rico to take care of him. In November 2017, he passed away and the grieving process has been a tough one. My comfort is the joy of having him in my home for the past five years and forever I will cherish those memories.

Taina... I miss you

On December 26, 2017, my loving doxie, Taina passed away. She was a gift from my daughter when I was going through cancer treatment. However, we still have Bruno a Rottweiler, who belongs to my husband and loves to play. He keeps me company.

I love to read and I’ve over a hundred books in Spanish and English. I can read any gender, however lately I’m hooked with cozy mysteries. I love to cook, listen to music, and watch my favorite tv shows sitting next to my husband. I love to spend time with my grandchildren and take plenty of pictures of them.

If you can take the time to read and give me some feedback it would be appreciated. I’m not a professional writer, so you’re going to notice the mistakes. Be free to comment and don’t worry if you don’t like what I’ve posted. Your feedback would make me grow as a blogger.

I’m grateful for sharing my thoughts here on my blog and I want to THANK YOU for your time. I can’t wait to visit and read your blogs.

Your new friend;
Margret

  1. Margret–Happy Welcome to the blog world!! I think you will enjoy it–lots of great and talented people with warm hearts. I’ve been a blog poet since August 2011, and changed blogs many times–mostly due to my mercurial moods, and sometimes to blog issues, but I love it here at WordPress. I’m happy to hear your health is currently good–please be assured I’ll keep you in my daily prayers, as I do for all the blog folk I meet. God bless you and your family most bountifully ❤

  4. Hi Margret, I thank you for visiting my blog and liking a post. I wanted to visit your blog in turn, but when I clicked on your avator in the like section of my post, it took me to a larger avatar, but your blog link is not on that page. There is a way to have your blog link on that page, but I can’t for the life of me remember how to do it. Perhaps you can find a way to have a link to your blog on your avatar page. This makes it so much easier than searching in google to find your blog. Click on my avatar included to the left of this post and you will see that it takes you to a page with a link to my blog. Your avatar page needs this also. You have a good blog and more people will be able to read what you write after you visit their blog…Just a suggestion. God Bless. Kathy

  5. Margaret, thank you for your visit today and for taking the time to read about my mother. She wasn’t the easiest to live with, but I do have very fond memories of the good things she gave to me.

    I am always encouraged to read about breast cancer survivors. My Mother-in-law was one… they gave her 6 months to a year and she took 35 more!!! She was a great inspiration to me.

    One last thing before I go: I adored the picture of your little sister at 8 months. Beautiful!

      1. You are so right, and I think that is where my remembrances of her came from. Forgiveness. Without it I couldn’t have remembered the beautiful times. 🙂

    Hi Margret
    Thanks for following my blog (Cuba). My Spanish is non-existent so I hope I haven’t made too big a mess of it so far! Good luck with your writing.
