Three Kings day!

As a Hispanic and Catholic we end the festivities of Christmas with the Three Kings.  on January 6, they bring presents to all the kids, go to church, and at the end of the day a reunion with the family that includes a dinner. I’ve kept the tradition over the years and when my kids were younger they loved this special day.  Now is the turn of my grandkids to keep the tradition alive and to enjoy the story of the Three Kings and how they brought gifts to baby Jesus. My granddaughters send me a few pictures of their presents they got this morning under their beds. My grandson who lives close from me can stop talking about it. The Three Kings day is my favorite of the entire holiday season, beside watching the kid’s happy faces it also brings the memories of my childhood.

My 7 Magic Words!

Success, who wasn’t want to be successful? We want to accomplish our dreams and feel complete at the top of the world.

Forgiveness, this one is important. We all make mistakes and once a while, we can hurt someone’s feelings. Asking for forgiveness and forgive from the bottom of our heart it makes us a better person.

Love, without love we will not feel compassion. We will act like robots with no feeling and emotions. We need to care not only for us, but for others. This will bring the peace we all need.

Relax; we need to take a “me time”. We need to take time to recharge our energy, to clear up our minds. I take my “me time” reading, watching a good movie, writing, or just resting taking a nap.

Happiness, this can be when we achieved our dreams, having our family close, a good health, reading an amazing book, having the perfect job. It can be anything that makes you happy and your life easier.

Thank you, one of the perfect words. This one will let you appreciate what others are done for you and what God or the Universe has given to us.

Pray, this goes together with the word pray. The appreciation and the gratitude for what we have received.

Seven Wonders

Khalil Gibran once said that people will never understand one another unless language is reduced to seven words. What would your seven words be?

Thanks for the great idea, Mati!

What is missing?

Recently I have been having a tough time besides having writers block (can’t even come with a sentence). I’m feeling lonely, sad, and depressed. Yes I know life isn’t perfect and I can’t expect to be happy at all time. But I don’t want to have those feelings.

I have always been grateful for everything I have and some days I’m just feel fine.

I’m a catholic and a woman with an immense faith.  When I was younger, I used to sing in the choir, write the bulletin every week, and help the church to raise money.  I like reading the bible, listens to Christian music, and pray every day.  What is missing in my life?

I have been blessed with health, with a wonderful job, and the bills are getting paid. My husband has his dream job; I have a nice home where I raised my children and now my grandkids. I’m grateful for having my dad moved into my home and two of my siblings just moved closer to us. My kids are happy with their lives. My three grandkids make me smile and they are my life. Why I feel empty, disorganized. What is missing?

I wish all the negativity, the depression goes away. I want to be able to finish my draft, keep taking my online classes, and keep updating my posts. I’m trying to do my best and follow my doctor’s order; getting some rest, eat healthy, exercise, and take my medication.  I just have to believe that everything will be fine. That I will find what is missing and I will be blessed with happiness.

Where Is Spring?

Where is spring? As of march 20 springs is here. Where is it? It’s not until yesterday; we did have a chance to enjoy a nice warm weather. It was a beautiful day with temperatures in the 60s. I was happy to see the sun and not wearing my winter jacket. I took my morning to decorate my home for Easter and in the afternoon went outside and enjoy the day.

Today, chances of snow and temperatures lower on the 30s. Why? Where is spring?

One part of the spring that I enjoy is getting my garden ready. I do love it. I’m ready for my tulips and my lilies to bloom. Getting to plant my daisies (my favorites), different lilies -I want to plant reds and purple-I have lots of yellows. I can’t wait to plant my vegetable garden with cucumbers, tomatoes, and peppers. I can’t wait for my green grass to grow, watch the ladybugs, butterflies, squirrel running into my trees. I missed the noise outside, the children playing, the dogs barking, people walking with their dogs and the smell of the barbecues.

Where is spring? It someone knows where is it please sends it to North Dakota. It’s time for us to enjoy the warm season.

Daily Gratitude…

I have been doing a number of daily gratitude exercises since I grab the book “The Magic” by Rhonda Byrne. This book works magic and now I’m a fan and a believer.

The daily exercises also can be a challenge. Looking at my gratitude daily journal I have been grateful for the same thing every day for the past two months. It’s that’s wrong? No, but I will like to think that I have more blessings to be grateful for.

So, I decide to make a quick change.
1. I will use the magic word “THANK YOU” for every step I take because words are powerful. The more thankful I am, the happier I will be.

2. My gratitude journal will be instead of counting ten daily blessings I will be writing as much I want during different time of the day. A blessing shows up at any time.

3. Showing my happiness, my feeling of gratitude will relieve any negativity that wants to show up. While I know that challenge may come, I can overcome them and learn from them.

4. When I ask for beautiful things not only I will be asking for me but for everyone else.
To receive I have to give.

5. Create a vision board of all my desires and dreams that I want to achieve. Being very specific and detailed with the little things, the big things, what I want now, this month, or this year. Beside it will be fun to do.

In the book “The Magic”it says if “I practice little of gratitude my life will change a little and if I practice gratitude daily my life will change dramatically” that is my goal, my dream, and what I want.

Practicing gratitude has been changing my life. However, I have a lot of work to do. This takes a lot of discipline. No matter if it looks simple, sometimes we all forget to say “thank you”. I want all the negativity and fears gone forever.

The more I focus on the goodness in my life the more I will create.
