One-Liner Wednesday~lunches

Today was our last day of school. Since the quarantine, we have kept working, bagging breakfast and lunches for our students. We made between 180 to 200 lunches a day. Today we finished strong. It has been a blessing to keep working and making free lunches for our children. We made this program successful. Thank you for this amazing group (Edison School, McKinley School, and Sunnyside School) who made my day easier. From this quarantine and this pandemic, we have made great memories and good friends.

One-Liner Wednesday~ “Lunch Ladies”

“Lunch Ladies”, because even Teachers *need* HEROES.

I spend a nice day at the school prepping food for tomorrow, our first day of school. My French toasts are ready for tomorrow breakfast and the veggies are wash and cut for lunch. It will be an easy menu to start with. Cheese Pizza, fresh veggies, fruit, and milk. I can’t wait for tomorrow to see all the kids.

Take a Chance on Me

Over the years I have taken a few chances in life, but today I will talk about my challenge. I’ve been promoted as kitchen manager at the school and no matter, all the years of experience I’ve in managing I’m extremely nervous. Who wants to mess up the school lunch? Imagine if I don’t get what I order for the week. That can be a chaos.

I went back to work on Monday and getting the kitchen ready for the first day at school was a challenging day. All week I’ve been a nerve wracked.

After a long day of hard work and a good team the best reward of the day is looking at all the happy faces.
