Pleased to Meet You

Write a post in which the protagonists of two different books or movies meet for the first time. How do they react to each other? Do they get along?

(Thanks for a great prompt idea, Christine Goodnough!)

The restaurant was full like always at dinner time.  Hercule Poirot was sitting in the left corner of the restaurant looking at the menu. At the other end was Sherlock Holmes he has a glass of wine.  They didn’t know each other, but they heard their names and the type of work they did.

In the middle of the restaurant there was a lovely couple talking and laughing. They took their glass of wine and suddenly the beautiful woman started to scream. Her husband just drops dead with his glass in his hand.

The two men immediately stand close to the victim and both will stare at each other.  The police arrive and both still standing next to the victim.

At the same time both will say, “His been murder”.

“Who are you”? said one of the men.

“My name is Hercule Poirot and who are you?”

“I’m Sherlock Holmes the famous detective”.

Poirot didn’t like the comment. He thought he was the famous detective and no one was like him.

The captain arrives and he told both Sherlock and Poirot to go home. The San Francisco Police didn’t need their help.

Both men were in shock and disappointed. They were the best detectives in the world and they don’t need their help.

“Well Mr. Poirot and Mr. Holmes here in San Francisco we already have the most famous detective and the best and there he is Adrian Monk”, said the captain.

Both detectives look at the door and there he was Mr. Monk ready to solve the case.
