Writing 101: Serially Lost-Part One

I’ll love to tell you the story of my beloved Angel.

It was a stormy afternoon and they were announcing flooding in our area. In Puerto Rico that type of weather was normal.

I was standing at the kitchen door when I heard a noise outside. Under the palm tree I saw a reflection and then a cry. Under the palm tree a little kitten wet, cold, and frightening.

I ran outside and took him into my arms. I fell in love with him.  He was hungry, sick, and skeletal.

My mother immediately told me I can’t keep him since we have two dogs. We didn’t have the money to take him to the vet and he was very sick. It didn’t matter to me; I just want to keep him.

I grab a baby bottle from my little sister and try to feed him.  I pray to God to please save him and that I’ll be obedient and well behaved.

That night meanwhile I’m praying I named him “Angel”.
