My Three favorite Songs!

Today’s Exercise: Commit to a Writing Practice – Day 3

I’ve more than three favorite’s songs, however this assignment is asking for only three.

I grew up in Puerto Rico and Spanish is our primary language. The music I heard was Latin music from Salsa, Bolero, and Merengue it would keep everyone on a Saturday morning in the happy mood. With the radio on, it was time to do our chores. Also when I was a teenager and loving any kind of music I started to listen to The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Tom Jones, and the Osmond.

My mother uses to say “music comes from the heart”. That’s the reason I love to listen to music.

I’m going to tell you about my three favorite song that touch my heart this isn’t counting the wonderful Spanish songs from the 70’s that I love so much.

1-“A mi manera” by Richie Ray & Bobby Cruz- Spanish version- (“My way “original by Frank Sinatra). The first time I heard this song, it was in 1975. Every single word of this song has impacted me in a way that every time I listen to this song I would start to cry. I’ve collected this song by different artist, language, and genre. I did learn to dance salsa listening to this beautiful song. This song brings so many memories. This is my number one song of all time.

2.“I’ll do it for you” by Brian Adams- This is one of my favorite romantic songs. As soon as I watch the movie “The Prince of Thieves” with Kevin Costner I fell in love with the movie and the theme song. I just want Kevin Costner (Robin Hood) to rescue me and recite the song looking into my eyes. Every time I watch the movie or hear this song you can see my tears. Oh yes, I’m so cheesy. I dedicate this song to my husband on our 25th anniversary.

3.”Time to say Goodbye” by Andrea Bocelli & Sarah Brightman- I found this song in You Tube and the first time I watch the video I didn’t understand the meaning of the words, however watching both of them singing with that passion it was enough for me. My favorite part is when Sarah Brightman is standing next to Andrea Bocelli and touches softly his face it looks very touching. Later on, I found that Andrea Bocelli sings this song in Spanish, too. I loved it.

I love music very much and what matters the most is the beautiful message.
